I've only found out more about him recently due to him having married off on the "Catholic" side of the family.

According to my great-grandmother, a rather devout anti-Catholic bigot, a few of her aunts and uncles went off and got themselves married into the "RCs" and were never heard from again -- that is, until the will had to be decided.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-702460502853399807.post-30246587886795636682010-07-25T21:12:59.435-04:002010-07-25T21:12:59.435-04:00The Baack OTS Eb cornet is now posted here: http:/...The Baack OTS Eb cornet is now posted here: http://web.a-znet.com/~jstockham/ECBPics/BaackOTSEbNewWeb.jpgJeff Stockhamhttp://www.excelsiorcornetband.com/Excelsior_Cornet_band/Home.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-702460502853399807.post-48012570389095147612010-03-01T02:13:50.963-05:002010-03-01T02:13:50.963-05:00I just acquired a 6 key Boxwood and Ivory flute ma...I just acquired a 6 key Boxwood and Ivory flute made by Edward Baack, looks like it was made around 1850.Jon C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12578870610816091149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-702460502853399807.post-48313025307617001252009-11-23T19:43:38.060-05:002009-11-23T19:43:38.060-05:00This may be slightly off-topic: I own an over-the-...This may be slightly off-topic: I own an over-the-shoulder E-flat cornet marked "E. Baack / New York". Picture here: http://web.a-znet.com/jstockham/ECBPics/BaackEbOTS1.jpg.
It probably dates to the immediate post-Civil-War period, and it is clearly an instrument imported from Europe and stenciled by Baack, not made by him. Still, it is the only brass instrument signed by Baack of which I'm aware. It is currently awaiting restoration to playing condition.Jeff Stockhamhttp://www.excelsiorcornetband.comnoreply@blogger.com
