USS Hartford, Civil War Marine Corps Drum


USS Hartford served in several prominent campaigns in the Civil War as the flagship of David G. Farragut, most notably the at the Battle of mobile Bay in 1864. Background is brown with shield-breasted eagle holding ribbon inscribed U.S.S. Hartford, rims painted red. Drum heads are held with rope, leather tighteners, some replaced. Both heads present, with small area of loss to bottom head. Paint is still bright. 13 in. tall, 15.5 in. dia.
